Welcome to a new type of news for Plymouth

The Beagle is an independent news publication launched from Plymouth Hoe in October 2024. Just like HMS Beagle, which set sail 200 years ago carrying Charles Darwin on a voyage of discovery, we are setting out on our own adventure.

We want to focus on news, people, positivity, and information for Plymouth's waterside communities. Quality rather than quantity. And you can read our stories without wading through irritating pop-up ads, auto-play videos, clickbait or mindless articles about supposed celebrities.
