All you need is love - Plymouth's Beatles memorial is finally improved

Improvements have finally been made to the land around the Beatles memorial on The Hoe, which marks the spot where the Fab Four sat in the late 1960s.

They stopped off there while filming their Magical Mystery Tour - posing for photos in front of the then all-white Smeatons Tower.

The copper artwork, moulded to mark the position of their hands and backsides, was created by Thrussell and Thrussell, a duo of artist metalsmiths based on Bodmin Moor.

It was put in situ in 2016 but the land around it has more recently been at risk of turning into a mud bath - spoiling the spectacle and attraction for thousands of visitors.

Well done to all who had a hand in re-turfing and cleaning the area.
