Heated debate at St Andrew's Church

Why is it taking so long to sort out repairs to the heating at St Andrew’s Church?

It seems that the answer lies with the Church of England hierarchy—and a requirement from ‘on high’ to reduce carbon emissions to zero.

The old, defunct gas boilers cannot be replaced without first considering hugely expensive air-source and ground-source heating systems. Only if and when alternatives are ruled out as unsuitable can a simple (and cheaper) like-for-like replacement be allowed.

This week, a meeting took place with an independent heating consultant who is drafting a report on feasible options. In the meantime, worshippers are encouraged to keep bringing blankets, hot water bottles, and warm coats to endure the remaining cold weather!
